I ALWAYS THINK ABOUT THIS

I often sit and think about everything.All the events in the history of the entire world that lead me to this exact point in time. All the people who had to exist and interact just so my parents could meet and I could be born. How people’s lives hundreds and thousands of years ago were vital to my existence. Howevery little thing in the universe was one huge lucky coincidence. How it is possible that if one little event in the grand scheme of things could throw off the rest of the world.

Like if my grandparents never met their friend that introduced them, my mom would never have been born. She never would have met my dad,and I never would have been conceived.

How if Hitler had made it into art school,maybe the Holocaust wouldn’t have occurred,and we wouldn’t have lost all those lives.

If organisms hadn’t evolved in the particular way they did, humans might never have been around.

What if you never met your best friend,you probably wouldn’t be the person you are today.

Like,in grade school,my librarian’s son was in New York City. He had a meeting at the World Trade Center one morning, but he got caught in traffic or the car broke down or something, so he was late for the meeting. This day was September 11, 2001.If that hadn’t happened, he very well could have been another casualty of the attack.

All of these coincidences are just sosososo intricate to accept as pre-planned. I want so much to believe that they are the workof God and that there is a superior being. But what if they are just simplycoincidences.

Or what if there is something bigger going on here than we can even begin to fathom? Maybe we are so far off it’s insane. We may never know.

I’m okay with that sometimes, but other times it makes me want to cry.
